Stephen Blackwood is the founding President of Ralston College. He received his BA (Classics) from the University of King’s College, his MA (Classics) from Dalhousie and his PhD (Religion) from Emory University. He has held visiting positions at Harvard University, the University of Toronto, and the University of Cambridge. His book on the Roman poet-philosopher-statesman, Boethius, was published by Oxford University Press.

Dr Blackwood was a co-founder and first Executive Director of Saint George’s YouthNet, an inner-city youth mentoring and life skills organization in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation and on the Advisory Board of the Roger Scruton Legacy Foundation.

Dr Blackwood has been a member of the Board of Governors since 2010.
